The Independent Parent is a 501c3 organization and our mission is to reduce parental burnout, promote healthy family functioning, and prevent the intergenerational impacts of stress, trauma, and dysfunctional parenting practices that can negatively affect both caregivers and children.

Through individualized coaching, group-based support programs, wellness education, family stabilization services, and restorative wellness retreats, The Independent Parent addresses many of the social, emotional, and environmental challenges that place families at increased risk for mental and spiritual health concerns, chronic stress, and adverse childhood experiences. 

A cornerstone of our work is the Environmental Displacement Wellness Initiative, a restorative retreat model designed to temporarily remove parents from the daily stressors that contribute to burnout and emotional exhaustion as a means to improve emotional wellbeing, strengthen family relationships, and create healthier home environments for their children.

To ensure affordability never acts as a barrier to participation, The Independent Parent operates on a scholarship-supported model and seeks donatinos and partnerships with healthcare organizations, schools, churches, and community stakeholders to make these services accessible to families who need them most.
